Participate 1 - Ideal Digital Learning Communities



There are many factors to consider in order to create an ideal digital learning community (DLC). Educators and students nee to work together to bring such a vision to fruition.  An ideal DLC should be free, collaborative, interactive, rated, easy to use, and accessible from any device. An ideal DLC should have individualized learning and pacing, pathways to relevant learning, and differentiated learning. After exploring a few digital communities, I found that CodeAcademy offers many of the qualities that an ideal learning community should have. Some of the extra features they offer that made them more attractive and welcoming to data link control, downloadable content, mobile capabilities, single sign-on passwords, performance-based assessments and tasks, parent portal, single space for teachers to upload lessons, and simple instructions for learning by doing.
