Choose a standards-based area of study and create an assignment. Then create a method for assessing student work utilizing one of the mediums discussed in this lesson. Ensure the tool demonstrates an instructor’s employment of effective feedback.
Post the student assignment, as well as the method of assessment in your blog. In addition, show the use one of the feedback methods discussed in this lesson.
This assignment was assessed with Google Forms / Flubaroo for the answers, but students also had to submit a copy of their work for full credit. Many math assessments will be multiple choice, but math instructors must see a good portion of how students worked their problems in order to provide feedback and in order for students to improve their thinking and learning from that feedback. For this example, the student answer number 9 incorrectly. I will provide the student with an audio file of my verbal feedback. I think this is more personable and students are able to hear the positive tone with the feedback.
